Party Addons
The focus frame addon pops up an extra character icon (with health/mana bars etc) for whatever unit you have assigned as your focus. You will also be able to view the target of your focus, damage done to your focus and cast bars.
This addon essentially allows you to track two targets. For example, set an enemy healer as the focus and you can now watch when an enemy healer is about to cast heal while simultaneously targeting and killing his friend. You can even set your own healer as the focus and monitor if they are getting whooped at any point when in a dungeon.
And as you are now using the focus system more, you may as well create a /focus macro and an /assist focus macro and use them in instances. Set your tank as focus, and attack everything he targets with just a click of the assist button. All without messing with your usual targeting system. (NB: in big 25 man raids it is actually better to set the main assist as your focus.)
Until WoW has an inbuilt threat meter (promised in an upcoming patch) this little addon does the job. Just have everybody in the guild install it. The threat meter will let you know who is topping the threat charts – and it had better be the tank, not the healer. If you see your threat rising you can tone down the damage until the tank is nice and high again.
This addon also works wonders for hunters & warlocks who solo with pets – letting them know if they are about to pull aggro.
